WE finished and ajusted our blue prints today. We are using CO2 and a block of wood for a body.We are going to attach the CO2 to the body to propel it foward and at a fast rate.We will sand the body down so it can fit our blueprints.We are also taking photos of the blueprints and the materials. We could not test our car because it is not complete. Using the CO2

we will be using Newton's 3rd Law (With every action there is an equal and opposite reaction).

    Today we submitted our first bill, the No Lego Law.  We are also getting our team contract approved by Mrs. Hockman. We were not able to start our car because we had no wheels or cut wood.

Today we made as many bills as we could and put our car together. We couldn't test our car today because we didn't have it complete in time to test. We put our CO2 inside the back of the car so it won't fall off if we put it on top of the car. We will try to test tomarrow.

Our model car is finished. We are waiting to test it. We finished our last two bills. Prototype is due today. We tested it. Worked, went real fast and flipped and lost a wheel, minor proplem can get another.

    Today we'll try to test our car.  Two of the car's wheels are jacked up, so we can't move it without it spinning around. Padriac is going to try to fix it so we can test it...scratch that Padraic just fixed it. Also Andrew(that's me) is doing the journal.

Today We will use Newton's 1st law,the car will keep going foward  because of the Carbon Dioxcide(or CO2) unless friction and gravity slows it down.

Today we are testing our car. we will use co2 to propel it. We are trying to fix the wheel but is is still jacked up.

We will use the co2 to prople it but friction and gravity will make it slow down.

Today our car went 4 meters in .97 seconds and had a velocity of 3.774 at 2 Meters. And at 4 Meters it had a velocity of 4.124.

    We are testing our car today. I'm going to hold the hammer while Jake holds the nail. Hopefully it won't spin out of control. We are creating another force diagram and putting in information for Force,distance,velocity,accelaration, mass,and time. Padraic cut off part of the car so it's a wedge and now it weighs 130g instead of 150g.

 Today we wieghed the mass of the car without the CO2 it only weighs 85.5g. that's a 44.5g difference in the cars mass. We are using a rupper band to lanch it as an alternitive lanching if co2 gets banned. When we test our car it goes completely straight, but it spins so it it ends up stoping before it reaches the end. We hold less friction then other cars because we are using little plastic wheels and it holds less friction then the other wheels being used.

Using Newtons 1st law that states that the behavior of all objects will contunue to do what they are doing unless they are acted upon another force. in this case when the wheels spin on the floor it creates friction which slows it down.

Today we turned the data that we gathered into a graph. We tested our car to see how far it would go with the rubberbands instead of the CO2 Cartridge. our thought with the ruberbands is to use a slingshot manuver and make it sling to the 10 meter line. This applies the 3rd Law of Motion which is for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, when we pull the car and rubber band back and let go, the rubber band sling foward, it pushes the car foward sending it foward. We used the rupper band because the co2 might be banned

 

 

Explanation of Zero

Well if you take a number, such as 1, if you take 1 and multiply it by nothing you get nothing. Also if you divide  1 by zero it's zero, how many times does 1 go into zero? 1 can't go into zero because nothings there so it's zero!

Today we did multiple tests and our first attempt failed.

  We will be using multiplication to figure out the acceleration. Multiplication is 7x7. This works as it is basically seven 7 times. So 7+7+7+7+7+7+7=49

Today we had to do our projects in the classroom. The big room was occupied for the time being. We had to do our tests out in the hallway. Our car will not run on the carpet in the hallway.

    Today we have added toth picks to the hole in the car. These toothpicks will hold stewart in the car. The purpose of this is to hold steward safely. The toothpicks are 2 and a half inches long and are 1/8 wide. The absolute value of the distance of our car today was 6 meters and 2.25 seconds.

Today is backward day. Today we are testing our car going down instead of up. We are finished with the modifications on the car.The car traveld 6 meters in 2.94 seconds. It actually traveled -6 meters, but we have to do the absolute value because it traveled 6 meters either way.
